A connected Aorere community grows stronger as two new roads open in the neighbourhood.

Paneke Street and Reporepo Street are the first to be built for the area as part of Aorere Development. They will open to road users on Tuesday 1 August, following a midday event to mark the milestone.

The roads, along with a proposed new walkway on Haddon Street, will better connect the community to the wider neighbourhood, including Aorere Park. Paneke Street connects two sides of a looping Mayflower Close, while Reporepo St now links it to Henwood Rd.

While providing new warm and dry homes across Tamaki Makaurau, Kāinga Ora also works with civil construction partner Piritahi to provide the infrastructure – the roads, pipes, cables and connections – everyone needs to live well.

The new street names were gifted by Te Ākitai Waiohua in 2021.
