Renewing Aorere from the roots up

14 Feb 2024
Mangere AO 062022 111

As we gear up for hundreds of new homes in Aorere, we’re bringing upgraded infrastructure – water services, power connections, footpaths, roads and more – to pave the way to a brighter future.

As part of Mangere Development, we’re replacing about 140 old state houses with around 470 new public, affordable and market homes. The new infrastructure means all of these homes will be connected, protected and safe, and to make sure we’re doing the best we can for Aorere, we also need to remove some trees from public footpaths and private properties.

Mangere Development and our civil construction partners LEAD Alliance have made a thorough assessment to make sure our native and protected trees are kept safe, and private homeowners have given us permission to work on their properties. None of the trees we’re removing are native or protected species, and taking them out will mean we can deliver these important infrastructure upgrades for the 470 new warm and dry homes for families.

There may be some noise disruption from this work, so we’ll do our best to keep it to a minimum. We want to thank you for your patience as we carry out important upgrades that’ll ensure Aorere remains a great place to live, now and in the future.
