Henwood Rd Temporary Closure

Development in Aorere is well underway. We’re replacing approximately 140 old state houses with around 470 new state, affordable and market homes, and we’re also replacing a huge amount of valuable infrastructure - like water services and power connections, footpaths, roads and more.

Henwood Road (between Winthrop Way and Allen Street) will be closed from Tuesday 1 Nov for approximately 7 weeks. The upcoming construction work will include:

  • Stormwater upgrade improving the quality and capacity of the existing network
  • Outlet upgrade creating a natural discharge feature with natural landscaping
  • Manhole installation to filter stormwater before entering the stream

With so much work going on, we will need to temporarily close a small part of Henwood Road to through-traffic, so we can maintain residents’ access to their homes and keep everyone safe while allowing construction to progress as quickly and smoothly as possible.

A temporary traffic management plan will be in place to guide pedestrians and vehicles through the area, as well as in and out of private property.

Check out the frequently asked questions below. If you need further information, please pop into the Mangere Development Information Centre at 12 Waddon Place between Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.

Or, get in touch with Piritahi on 0508 PIRITAHI or aorere@piritahi.nz.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we carry out important work to ensure Aorere remains a great place to live, now and in the future.
